Welcome to the 2nd edition of The Songwriting Habit behind-the-scenes newsletter. Yesterday, I shared why I decided to create this new course.
Today, I want to share with you what I’m putting in the course and why.
First off, a course worth taking is one that starts with the end in mind.
For me, that means creating something that will equip you—songwriters who are busy professionals and parents—with a doable system that will take you from idea to a finished song.
Those are my parameters. Nothing outside of them.
So how are you going to do that? Five major parts:
- MINDSET SHIFT: I’m going to help you not rely on your mood and feelings to write. Plus, I’m going to teach you how to play the “long” game.
- TIME/LOCATION: I’m going to help you find a dedicated time and place where your songwriting will take place daily.
- ORGANIZATION: I’m going to give you a very simple but effective system so your ideas don’t slip through the cracks.
- VALIDATION: You don’t have time to chase bad ideas. I’ll show you a validation testing system so you’re working on things that most excite you and likely others.
- THE HABIT: I’m going to show you a daily ritual of implementing all of the above so that you consistently finish songs as effortlessly as possible. In other words, a habit.
As I’m building up the waitlist, feel free to reply with any thoughts. This will help me tweak things as best I can to help as many of you as possible.
Ok, that concludes this week’s behind-the-scenes newsletter.
See you soon!
